Dinesh D'Souza Lied About My Work
D’Souza pretended to believe that my Loewen Low-IQ Test suggested that knowledge of ghetto argot was somehow helpful for college. Of course that’s not the point I was making. Such a tactic reveals him to be either a knave – because he surely knew the point I was making but chose to misstate it – or a fool –he actually missed the point I was making.
The Validity of "Standardized" Testing in Education and Employment
Loewen was the lead panelist in hearings held by the United States Commission on Civil Rights (back when we had one). His initial testimony is on pages 41-45. He has additional comments on pages 58-62. His paper, “A Sociological View of Aptitude Tests,” occupies pages 73-91. He also recommends testimony and papers by other panelists and by Eileen Rudert, who edited the volume.
