In 1935, a woman from Brigham City, UT wrote to Gov. Henry H Blood, objecting to placement of racially mixed CCC camp there. (see Olen Cole Jr., The African-American Experience in the Civilian Conservation Corps (Gainesville: UP of FL, 1999), 25-26).
