Comments
I had a phone conversation with a longtime resident who detailed the amount of racial discrimination, including serious police harassment, she and her family had experienced. Additionally, she sent an email, in which she wrote:
“None of that compares with the lessons of Adolf Hilter in the classroom. My son was told to write an essay on ‘the good tings Hitler did’ for Germany! He rebelled in the classroom and the teacher screamed at him, “I don’t know why you’re so upset–you’re not Jewish.” He ended up leaving.”
