Comments

In 1952, a black research physicist at Honeywell was threatened with eviction from a house he had rented, owing to race. According to the Minneapolis Tribune, “As a result of the work of the local ministers and the stand taken by the owner of the property, [Woodfin] Lewis was allowed to remain.”

According to a lifelong resident of Minnesota, “From stories, not personal accounts but reputable sources, there is quite a lot of anti-semitic and xenophobic persons in St. Louis Park.”

More recently, St. Louis Park became considerably Jewish and is sometimes called “St. Jewish Park.”
