My husband and I moved to Tazewell Co Va in the 1980’s. The racism was as rampant as my hometown in Wythe Co VA and other places in NC and TN where I had lived. My daughter’s pre-school was in Richlands. Near the Presbyterian Church there was a town or county sign that had the sundown warning on it. We moved before my daughter went to Kindergarten.
