Comments
My brother and future husband were hitchhiking home to E. St. Louis from SIU and got let off in Red Bud. A baseball game was in progress at nearby field. When the teams saw the two black men, c. 1967-69, they stopped playing and took out after them, and my brother and husband-to-be had to run for their lives. (Southern IL resident)
