No,Kaukauna was not a sundown town. There just wasn’t any negros who wanted to live there. I will make one exception–there was one who lived in Kaukauna in a tin shack next to the ball diamond. His name was Nigger Cook. At least that was what everyone called him and he was well liked by all who came in contact with him.
