Comments
“The town of Holliday, TX had a sign on the outskirts
warning black people in the same manner at least until
I was a teenager in the mid 60s (many, many years
ago). This fact was whispered about in my elementary
school and was considered scandalous by the school
kids during the 1950s. Some snickered, but all were
scandalized. It was improper behavior to speak ill of
anyone or speak antagonistically to anyone, black or
white, in public. I have personally seen this sign.”
