Comments
My wife was told by coworkers that there were no black property owners in Highland because whenever a minority family expressed interest, or wanted to make an offer on a house, that a wealthy member of the community would be tipped off, who would swoop down and buy the property before a person of color could close a deal. (According to a local teacher)
