Comments
In Oct of 2003, a former EMT from Dwight, IL, stated that it was a sundown town. She stated that in 1982, police used “NCIC” as shorthand for “New Coon In County,” whom they then visited and harassed. EMT remarked that she witnessed officers put out a “NCIC” call.
Census information is quite misleading. Dwight is home to the Dwight Correctional Facility and this artificially inflates their black population in the census data.
