Comments
Entire county may have been sundown, but it is not known for sure. More information is needed. Several towns in DuPage County are confirmed however. With a currently meaningful black population, it is no longer considered sundown.
A Reverend and longtime resident of DuPage County recalled “We lived in Villa Park, IL…I asked (my dad) why there were no ‘negroes’ in Villa Park. He old me that they were not allowed in DuPage County between sunset and sunrise…it was a common belief among my school mates into and through high school.”
