Email from a former resident: “I used to live in Baraboo, Wisconsin, about 50 miles north and a little west of Madison. I knew a fellow who had just purchased a home not far from mine in an area of small homes put up after WWII. According to him, the subdivision originally had a covenant excluding blacks. I don’t know if he had actually seen the abstract, or was just repeating the neighborhood’s oral tradition…”
