Thought you might want to know (if you don’t know already), not only was Ashland a sundown town, but it still had a “Nigger, don’t let the sun go down on you” sign up until %u201125 years ago. About a year ago I spoke to someone I know and she said she had relatives (or in%u2011laws) move there in the mid%u20111970s and the sign was still up. I asked when they took it down and she said about ten years later. (E-mail from a local resident, 2005)
