“A good friend of mine was not so politely told not to
bring any of his ‘colored’ friends into Altha.”

A former resident of Altha claimed that there used to be a sign that was removed sometime in the 1980s. This person also stated that, “The colloquial wisdom is that there are no black residents in Altha because no-one will sell/rent property to them” (June 2012).
