When I was a kid in the 60s and 70s I lived in Glastonbury, CT. We had one black family in town. Another tried to move in, and the rumor was that they were threatened with a shotgun. They decided not to buy the home.

In 1968 we moved to a new neighborhood in Glastonbury. Our old neighbor came by, raising money for somthing associated with keeping blacks out of town. She was the wife of the owner of the town paper, called the Glastonbury Citizen. We cancelled our subscription.

The only Arican Americans we had in our high school were bused in from Hartford.
