Comments
In July, 1879, a “mob dragged six members of [the]
Church [of Latter Day Saints] from their homes in
Brasstown, North Carolina, and whipped and clubbed
them. After warning them [not] to provide food and
shelter for the elders, the mob ordered them to leave
the state within four weeks or risk being killed.”

Years of Growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints in Western North Carolina. Asheville North
Carolina Stake, 1997.
