Blue Springs, MO, had Quantrill’s Raiders reunions into the 1930s. Few blacks live there. In 1983, a sign on a back road read: “Nigger: Don’t let the Son set on your ass in this town tonight.”

Another resident claims it had a sundown ordinance.
