You would need to verify this story with someone more familiar
with Unionville. Members of my family have lived in Unionville,
beginning in the 1860s. According to a common story, there was once a
large African American community in Unionville. One morning, the
entire community with the exception of one family had vanished. My
older brother asked townspeople about the story and they would assert
that it was true, but that they knew nothing about what had happened.
